The Stoic Moreno Valley Commute
Sitting in traffic on the 60 freeway this week, I was reminded of how much of our daily stress is self-manufactured.

Sitting in traffic on the 60 freeway this week, I was reminded of how much of our daily stress is self-manufactured. The brake lights stretching endlessly toward the horizon aren't inherently stressful -- it's our resistance to them that creates the anxiety. In a rapidly growing city like Moreno Valley, change is constant. New developments rise, traffic patterns shift, and the quiet desert landscape of yesterday becomes the bustling hub of tomorrow. We can't control the pace of this growth, nor can we control the driver who cuts us off near the Day Street exit. What we can control is our response. The commute becomes an opportunity for reflection, for listening to a new album, or simply practicing the art of being present. When we stop fighting reality and start accepting it, the 60 freeway transforms from a battleground into a classroom.
